Welcome! from our Reunion Chairs

Dear classmates:

The 35th Reunion of the [Notable] Class of 1974 approaches! Make plans for Thursday-Sunday, June 4-7, 2009. Our class headquarters is in the air-conditioned Becker House, one of the dorms that replaced U Halls on West Campus. Reunion lets you reconnect with classmates and see just how accurate their Facebook pictures are. See how the campus has changed and how beautiful it remains ...hand in that one last paper...climb the bell tower...or show off favorite haunts to family and friends.

Everyone is welcome, whether you're single, married, or newly single; with kids or without; employed, unemployed, retired, job-searching. There will be plenty of first-time-ever Reunioners, along with classmates who never miss Reunion. We've packaged Reunion to be as affordable as possible:

Register early, by May 8, and you'll pay less than $300. Cornell has a full weekend of activities: academic, athletic, musical, social. The Class of 1974 has meals and class-specific events. And you can hang with classmates at any time at our headquarters lounge/cafe: We've got a jukebox, snacks, photos, posters, and old and new Cornell Daily Suns.

Class of 1974 Reunion highlights:

-Town Meeting with Cornell President David Skorton. Class of '74 exclusive, 8:30 a.m. Friday at Becker House.

-Picnic lunches: At two of the newest buildings on campus, Duffield Hall (Engineering) Friday and Weill Hall (Life Sciences, near Lynah Rink) Saturday.

-Outdoor reception: On the newly landscaped Bailey Plaza (in front of, yep, Bailey Hall) Friday evening.

-Creative & Arts Show in Class of '74 HQ: Class artists and authors (spouses/ partners, too) are encouraged to bring a painting, photo, book, photograph, drawing, or other creation for display.

-Cornell Faculty guests: We want to honor the two dozen classmates on Cornell's faculty and staff. Also: Please suggest faculty (not just '74s) you would like to see at a reception or meal. We'll handle the details.

-Digital Center at Reunion HQ: We'll help you scan old photos or upload Reunion 2009 photos from your camera. Then you can send them to friends, view them on our slideshow at class headquarters, or share them online. We can help you set up a Cornell perpetual e-mail address and use Cornell's online alumni directory. Heard about Facebook or LinkedIn, but haven't joined? We'll show you how. If you're already on Facebook, you can upload photos now to our class page (search Facebook for "cornell 1974").

We hope you come for the whole weekend. If not, come for one or two days. More than 300 classmates are expected.

Questions? Suggestions? Contact one of us. See you in June!

If we don't have your current e-mail address, send us a quick note, subject: new e-mail address, to jtk6@cornell.edu.
